Different Forms of Media Violence

My research project focuses on what forms of media violence effects children/youth the most. This can either be video games, television, movies, or simply social media sites. After conducting some research for my group, I've gathered enough data to say that video games has the most effect on children. At an early age, children are given video games to learn, explore, or to simply have fun. This may be the case, but some games hold particular content not suitable for all ages. Luckily parents can monitor what games their children play by looking at the gamer rating on the front cover. Watching television is also a huge impact of media violence, but video games entail more control and it cannot be ignored if one actually enjoys it.

Here is a video game known as Grand Theft Auto and it always shows some sort of violence to children, teenagers, and the parents. Follow the link below:

Formal Introduction

Hello readers,

My name is Cortney and I will be introducing my Communications 111 project. My project revolves around finding research linking violence in children by the effect of different kinds of media specifically video games. I won't be tackling this alone, I had two other members of my group and their names are Alexis and Suzanne. We each took a form of media and are analyzing the effects they have on our youth. Our overall research question is "Is violence in the media influencing the behavioral and psychological minds of children?" This is important and has been studied heavily due to the increase in crime levels in the past decade and how the media easy influences citizens to believe certain things are ethical, when in all actuality they are not. I will answer this question by citing authors who've done research on this topic and formulating an unbias opinion about the media impact.
